Gaza - Stop the Massacre - Emergency Protest in Glasgow

47 5.30pm Tue 15 May 2018

About this event

Supported by Glasgow Stop the War Coalition Scottish Afghan Society We condemn the brutal massacre carried out today on unarmed protesters in Gaza by Israeli troops. These protesters are demanding the right to return to their historic homes which they were forced from during the Nakba 70 years ago. The deaths coincide with the moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem and its recognition by Donald Trump as Israel's capital. This is against international law and agreements, and a deliberate provocation to the Palestinians who are forced to endure occupation, illegal settlement and brutal repression. Lindsey German, Stop the War Convenor, said "This massacre should be immediately met with international condemnation and with protests in solidarity. We demand that Theresa May's government condemns the actions of Trump and Netanyahu in the strongest terms and that the British government stops all arms sales to Israel."
