Can we have affordable houses and cities in Scotland?

157 7.00pm Tue 29 Mar 2016

RISE - Scotland's Left Alliance invites everybody in Scotland to discuss together housing and planning issues.

About this event

Tahl Kaminer (Architecture, University of Edinburgh) and Hamish Kalin (Geography, University of Edinburgh) will start this discussion by revealing how the current legislation and administrative processes favour developers’ interests. The event is hosted by the Lothian RISE Circle, and will be chaired by RISE list candidate Sophia Lycouris. Join us (either in the venue or online) to consider options for radical planning and housing policies in Scotland, which will be developed by RISE with the support of the best specialists in these fields. This is a process which builds on RISE's existing policy for building 100,000 new green council houses, and also challenging landownership for the benefit of strong communities.
