Talk by theHead of the Policy Development and Evaluation Service at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Geneva.
Ewen Macleod is Head of the Policy Development and Evaluation Service at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Geneva. He has worked for the United Nations and the European Commission, holding both headquarters and field-based positions. Over the course of a thirty year career, he has worked on many complex humanitarian crises and protracted refugee situations in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. GRAMNet and GCID are delighted to welcome Ewen to the University of Glasgow to speak on the UNHCR's role in Syria and some of the current and future challenges the refugee outflow has provoked for the international community. Ewen will discuss the broader implications of the Syria crisis for asylum and migration policy, and development and humanitarian aid. There will be a Q and A session after Ewen's talk and refreshments will be served in the foyer following the event.
