Paul Middleton is a Professor in the Theology and Religious Studies Department at the University of Chester. He is an expert in early Christianity, and is the author or editor of seven books, including The Wiley-Blackwell Companion to Christian Martyrdom and The Violence of the Lamb: Martyrs as Agents of Divine Judgement in the Book of Revelation. Born and brought up in Glasgow, he studied Music then Theology at the University of Glasgow, Princeton Theological Seminary, and a PhD at Edinburgh University. Before moving into an academic career, he trained as a Church of Scotland minister. He has held academic posts at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Wales Lampeter, and moved to Chester 10 years ago. See https://WhatsOnGuide.scot for future events.
