A public meeting hosted by RIC Edinburgh and co-sponsored by Edinburgh Stop the War Campaign
Following the recent bombing of a peace march in Ankara RIC Edinburgh has organised a Public Meeting.The meeting is co-sponsored by Edinburgh Stop the War Campaign. We will hear from Sarah Collins who was part of the September 2015 Scottish Solidarity with Kurdistan delegation who visited North of Kurdistan (Kurdish region in South of Turkey) to observe the political situation in Turkey and Kurdistan. The Delegation visited the trade unions, NGOs, Peoplesâ€™ Democratic Party (HDP) and refugee camp which had estimated over 3,000 people in Diyarbakir Murat Gullen, official spokesperson from HDP Iskocya, (The Peoples' Democratic Party Scotland) Pete Cannell, secretary of Stop the War Campaign Edinburgh Turkish state news agencies have suggested that the Saturday, 10th October Ankara bombings could have been the work of an ISIS suicide bomber. There were also reports of police tear gassing and using water cannons on the crowds straight after the bombing.
